In case you didn't read the title of this post - I rarely do - who's excited? That's right. Me. Today seems to be a threefold good thing kind of day. First good thing? Forgive me my gloating - I got accepted into the honors program at our local (large) community college. Not high school honors. College. YES. YES. YES. Through MN's awesome PSEO program, this means I'll get the first two years of college pretty much for free, and will be graduating from high school with an Associate's Degree in 2012. Did I mention I'm excited? This also means, however, that in two weeks when classes start I will be VERY busy, so a lot of online stuff will probably go on hold.
Second good thing. I seem to have gotten my passion for the blog and online community back. If you hadn't noticed, my contributions to the blogosphere and Twitterverse have been rather sparse since my return from camp. I got one heck of a kick out of reading, obviously, and had a lot of fun sewing and cooking and swimming and going for long walks and doing all the other fun hobbies that usually occupy my time, but when it came to sitting down and writing posts, I was stumped. Thankfully, as of today, I'm pretty happy to be back, so despite the insane homework load I will most likely be saddled with, you'll hopefully be seeing more of me.
And third good thing? I just finished The Blind Assassin by Margaret Atwood, and it blew my mind pretty much as much as Atonement by Ian McEwan did in June. My heart may belong to YA fiction, but you just can't beat Margaret Atwood.
I actually realized there's a fourth good thing to write about today. We only have two more weeks to wait until Mockingjay's insanely amazing and anticipated release on August 24th! Now if that doesn't make you excited, I don't know what will. =)
